Alison Boyce is an Artist Jeweller whose work explores what we consider precious and valuable. She brings together found objects and unconventional materials with traditional silversmithing techniques, drawing on a broad knowledge of art history and a lifelong fascination with the old, the worn, and the overlooked.

Inspirations and Experimentation
She is drawn to fragments, imperfections and the unpolished – qualities that feel increasingly human and meaningful in a world that prioritises the digital and mass produced. Her work is influenced by religious icons and reliquaries, tribal adornments, ancient relics and the weathered, well handled objects found in museum collections and antique markets.
Growing up near Hull, studying in Brighton, and living in Portugal and Lithuania before settling in North Kent, Alison has spent a lifetime collecting discarded finds- from city streets and tropical shore to the banks of the Medway Estuary near her home. These fragments are stored in her studio, where they become either the spark for a new piece or a central element within it.

Experimentation is key to how Alison works. She allows materials and processes to guide each piece as it develops, following her instincts and responding to what emerges along the way. Her Jewellery combines silver, vitreous enamel on copper, wool, stone, beads, and textiles with found materials, shaped by an intuitive sense of materiality and storytelling. Many pieces are designed with a dual purpose: to be worn as an adornment, or displayed as a wall piece or artefact in their own right.
